Campbellsville, Ky. — Campbellsville University wants to pay 100% of an incoming freshman's tuition.
In a news release, the school announced the CU Tuition Guarantee. The guarantee is open to all first-time, full-time students from Kentucky who have a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA and are eligible for the Pell Grant. Once a student has received as much federal and state aid as they can, including the Pell Grant, Kentucky Tuition Grant (KTG), College Access Program (CAP) and the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarships (KEES), the university will scholarship the remaining amount up to 100% of the cost of tuition.
"For over 100 years, Campbellsville University has been committed to educating and supporting underserved Kentucky students," said Dr. H. Keith Spears, interim president.
Dr. Donna Hedgepath is the school's provost and vice president for academic affairs. In the release, she said, "The CU Tuition Guarantee provides a level of security for qualified students who may still struggle with any remaining gaps in covering tuition costs. Any support we can provide to help students succeed is a good investment for CU."
The CU Tuition Guarantee is available for a total of four academic years as long as the student maintains a minimum 2.0 GPA and remains a full-time student. The guarantee is good at any of the five Campbellsville University in-person locations: Campbellsville, Louisville, Harrodsburg, Somerset or Liberty.
The guarantee only covers tuition. Room, board, textbooks and fees are not included.
