The expansion will create about 135 jobs in total with 40 being filled immediately.

Penelope Sanford is one of the new employees, and she says this opportunity is one that she can now use to support her family.

"It has helped a lot," said Sanford. "The pay raise and everything has helped a lot with my three children at home.”

Plant manager Dave Kondracki is also excited about the expansion and knows the impact it will have on the Morgantown area.

"We’re doing an expansion in our building with several people that we are hiring, so we’re pretty much doubling our workforce," said Kondracki. "So that makes it a great opportunity for the community and the people in the area."

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was also heavily involved in the expansion and created a strong relationship with Stratus Plastics, according to Kondracki.

"The Chamber of Commerce was instrumental in helping us with our expansion and helping locate people as well," said Kondracki.

The expansion is expected to take place over the next five years.
