BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — As Women's History Month continues, the Kentucky Museum is honoring female politicians and activists with two new exhibits.
The Seat at the Table exhibit highlights famous female Kentucky politicians, and Kentucky Women Rising honors impactful feminists in the state.
Museum Education Curator Dr. Christy Spurlock is excited about the exhibits.
"I just hope that people get to learn about some of the amazing women in our states history," Spurlock said.
Collections Curator Sandy Staebell is also excited about the exhibit and is glad to put this history on display.
"We’re a part of history and history should be about everybody and quite often women historically have been one of a number of groups that have been overlooked in what history has recorded, so we think it’s a really powerful way to get part of that untold story out there," Staebell said.
The Kentucky Museum will be open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. CST. The museum also offers protected artifacts and medals that are on display.
