Senate Bill 128 passed by a vote of 36-0. After a year of disruptions to athletics caused by the pandemic, some senior student-athletes are considering returning.

"I really do enjoy it. I play football and basketball, and it’s fun getting out here everyday and playing, so it’s definitely crossed my mind,” said Barren County High School senior Gavin Withrow.

Other seniors who have committed to play in college are excited about others but will not be returning

"I’m probably not considering it because I just signed with Campbellsville University to play football, so I probably won't be coming back," said Barren County High School senior Corbin Murphy.

The bill must still be approved by the House and the House Education Committee as well as Gov. Andy Beshear. If passed, the local school districts will then decide if they will allow students to return or not.
