MURRAY, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear spoke at the Kyle-Oakley Field Airport on Tuesday to discuss the widespread flooding and damage the state is dealing with.

Multiple roads and bridges must but rebuilt, but Beshear is confident in the direction of the first-responders. 

"I’m here today to promise that the state is going to do everything it can to be a good partner in moving forward and digging in and out of rebuilding,” said Beshear 

Beshear also mentioned that not one person has lost their life, the product of people helping one another. 

"To our knowledge, we don't have one lost life," said Beshear. "Thats people protecting people, realizing what our priorities are, and knowing that we can rebuild."

Beshear declared a state of emergency on Sunday, and the flooding events could provide additional funding from President Joe Biden. 

"We believe that they are likely to qualify for a national declaration by the president which will provide additional funding," said Beshear. 

Beshear says there is no timetable for the Commonwealth to be completely rebuilt, but he and his team will work each day to help not only Murray but the rest of the state as well.
