Here is a look at some of the areas scheduling vaccines appointments throughout Kentucky.

Louisville

Norton Healthcare announced it's assisting the state and the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness with administering COVID-19 vaccines to residents age 70 and older.

Those who qualify can visit NortonHealthcare.com/COVID-19-Tier-1b to schedule their vaccine appointment. However, at this time, schedules are closed due to high demand, according to Norton's website.

When scheduling, you'll be asked to:

  • Click the tab that asks if you meet the requirements for Tier 1b (age 70 or older);
  • Choose your preferred location; and
  • Provide identification/proof of age at the time of vaccination.

People age 70 and older with a MyNortonChart will receive a message to direct schedule if they wish to do so while people with proxy access for a loved one who qualifies will be able to register for them.

“We are in a fortunate position to now be able to help vaccinate our older population as well as communitywide health care providers and professionals,” said Norton Healthcare President and CEO Russell F. Cox. “Following the guidance of the commonwealth of Kentucky, we look forward to vaccinating additional community members as more vaccine doses become available.”

Norton reminded that only healthcare providers and people ages 70 and older can currently receive the vaccine through Norton Healthcare.

Lexington

Baptist Health Lexington is scheduling vaccines for Phases 1a and 1b in Kentucky. According to Baptist Health's website, Phase 1b is focusing on those ages 70 and older.

Those who are qualified can schedule their vaccine here.

UK Healthcare is also accepting vaccine request forms for its Kroger Field location.

Those who complete the form will be added to a database of people who have requested the vaccine, and invitations will be sent out "based on the recommended phased distribution from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, with priority given to healthcare workers, essential workers and older people," according to UK Healthcare's website.

Northern Kentucky

According to a press release, the Northern Kentucky Health Department has begun vaccinations for people in Phase 1b, including K-12 school personnel and people age 70 and older. The department is administering the vaccines in partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare and HealthPoint Family Care.

Phase 1a — which includes long-term care and assisted living facilities, health care personnel, and first responders — will continue to receive their vaccinations.

The vaccines are available by appointment only, and no walk-ins will be permitted. Those 70 and older will have to provide a Kentucky ID for verification of residence at the time of their appointment. Those who don't meet the verifications won't receive the shot.

Residents of Boone, Campbell, Grant, and Kenton counties who are 70 and older or in Phase 1A can schedule their vaccine appointment online. Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, people can register by phone at (859) 363-2120.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare will distribute vaccines for K-12 school personnel at public and private schools in Boone, Campbell, Grant, and Kenton county school districts over the upcoming weeks, the release says. They are working directly with school administrators to schedule vaccines for those who requested them.

Bowling Green

The Medical Center in Bowling Green has moved into Phase 1b of vaccinations, which includes first responders, anyone at least age 70, and K-12 school personnel.

People who qualify can add their name to the scheduling request list by texting SENIOR to 270-796-3200 or by emailing vaccine@mchealth.net with their full name, date of birth, and phone number. Names will then be placed in a queue, and residents will be contacted when an appointment time becomes available.

"Phase 1b includes a large number of Kentuckians and, with the limited supply of vaccine, we ask the public to be patient as we work through the request list," says a message on the Center's website.
