LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear's ban on indoor dining has officially been lifted.

What You Need To Know

  • Indoor dining resumes in Kentucky

  • Restaurants can seat people inside with up to 50% of capacity

  • State assistance available during latest round of restrictions

On Monday, restaurants could once again seat people inside with up to 50% capacity.

"Doing good. Glad we are open so we can at least make some money," said Pam Pryor, who's the kitchen manager at Wagner's Pharmacy in Louisville.

The historic restaurant has many dedicated customers, and some of them were back inside on Monday after three weeks of ordering takeout or eating on an outdoor patio. At lunchtime Monday, no one was sitting outside.

“It’s messed up all of our Christmas," Pryor said. "You know, our customers are real good to us, and with being closed, we’ve not been able to do too much for them and them for us. It’s been a little rough on us," Pryor continued.

During the latest round of restrictions, restaurant owners could apply for up to $10,000 in state assistance. Even as indoor dining returns, most restaurants are still doing a fraction of the kind of businesses experienced a year ago, but it's enough to bring some furloughed staffers back.

"Bringing back our regulars that we’ve had that’s been off for a little bit. Try to keep everybody and use them when we could use them," Pryor said. "We are very thankful for everyone who is showing up and sticking with us.”
