LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Hope Center is taking its services to the streets of downtown Lexington, supplying clothes, medical needs and food to those in need.

The Hope Mobile offers brown bag lunches to anyone who would like a meal. With a nurse on staff, it offers medical referrals as well as different service referrals who can help people in different situations.

“If someone has to choose between paying their electric bill and buying groceries, the hope mobile is a great resource because they can go and get brown bag lunches for themselves, their kids, and at least have that security of knowing that they're fed for the day,” volunteer and community outreach manager Carey Cairo said.

No appointment is needed. Volunteer workers are at the church locations Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in downtown Lexington. Exact locations are as follows:

  • Mondays: Calvary Baptist Church, 150 E. High St.
  • Tuesdays: Woodland Christian Church, 530 E. High St.
  • Wednesdays: Maxwell St. Presbyterian Church, 180 Maxwell St.
  • Thursdays & Fridays: Broadway Christian Church, 187 N. Broadway

“You can just walk up and talk to Mary or Charles our staff members who are wonderful and they're just ready to serve people,” Cairo said.

The Hope Center is collecting donations from the public asking for hand sanitizers, masks, tube socks and more items from its full list.
