Wilson has several titles, including President and CEO of Style Icon Group, Master Stylist, award-winning designer, and brand development consultant in Louisville. Style Icon Group focuses on empowering men and women through style, non-verbal communication, and targeted results while using fashion as a business tool.
“We warmly welcome Andre to the Board and with his expertise,” said Rick Murphy, president of the Board of Directors. “We look forward to positive actions that create a more diverse and equitable NULU neighborhood.”
Murphy said Wilson embodies many of the attributes that helped NULU become the creative neighborhood that it is today as an artist, designer, businessman, and family man. He also said Wilson will work to make the NULU neighborhood more diverse and inclusive while guiding NULU to be a model of anti-racism in neighborhood development and employment.
The Diversity Empowerment Council, announced earlier this week, plans to launch an inclusivity program with the goal of attracting and assisting black-owned and other minority business start-ups with a business plan, entity creation, and applications for funding.
The council will also focus on community education and group training in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
