ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. - Nearly every industry is feeling pressure right now, including clothing shops and distributors who, just a couple weeks ago, were getting ready for prom and wedding dress buying season.

Husband and wife Bobbi Crabtree and Bucky McQueen own USA Bridal, a massive warehouse in Elizabethtown they say is usually moving 1,000 units a week, this season, for proms and upcoming weddings.

But while they are able to remain open for now, they say that number is down to just a handful of appointments. They’re concerned for profits, yes, but say they’ll bounce back when the new coronavirus subsides. Bobbi says their hearts are with the people they serve.

“By May, they already have their formal wear booked with us, they already have their wedding dress,” Crabtree said. “It’s very, very sad that they have to postpone, and then it’s just stressful. It’s a very stressful time when you’re getting married… under normal circumstances.”

The duo says they’ve spoken with multiple couples who are going to put off their ceremony plans until social distancing requirements are relaxed, but they still plan to tie the knot on their spring wedding date.

Sometimes love waits for nothing.
