LEXINGTON, Ky. – A well known Central Kentucky evangelist for the Diocese of Lexington and Papal Missionary for Pope Francis, gave the gift of free food to people in the city of Lexington Tuesday.
Father Jim Sichko handed out 100 St. Patrick’s Day dinners to the first 50 cars who arrived outside of Zim’s Cafe in downtown Lexington.
Sichko says each family dinner included servings for two adults and two children, which is a gift.
Each person also received another single serving meal, that Father Jim asked for the recipients to take to a friend or someone in need.
"One woman is taking it to a 90 year old widow who isn't able to get out another person is taking up both of their meals to families who have seven, eight kids and they weren't able to prepare a meal today, I mean that's the spirit of giving that's the spirit of what we're about. That's the american way to be honest with you, that's the Kentucky way,” explains Sichko.
The free meals consisted of Stonecross Kentucky Proud corned beef with creamy mustard sauce, slow cooked cabbage and other irish-themed ingredients.
