LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For 90 years, Louisville's Memorial Auditorium has hosted a series of special programs, productions, and events.  As the year winds down, the venue will be busy with various holiday events.

Opening the holiday season will be "Magic of Christmas Past: Pipe Organ Concert & Silent Movie." December 5 at 7 p.m. you can travel back to the silent movie age and enjoy the sounds jof pipe organs while watching vintage holiday silent movie shorts on the big screen. Guest organist Tim Jones from the American Theatre Organ Society will play holiday favorites while you can enjoy the Laurel & Hardy Christmas classic "Big Business." 

“This year the Louisville Memorial Auditorium proudly hosts another year of unique holiday programming that will quickly become a new tradition for audiences of all ages,” said Kelly Gream, Executive Director.

Days later one of Louisville's top barbershop choirs will peform. The Thoroughbreds take the stage Saturday, December 7 at 2 p.m. This will be their 71st Annual Show and Holiday Spectacular.  The show will showcase songs from various eras, including a mix of classic and contemporary barbershop with a modern a cappella. The second half of the show will showcase "Forefront", an international barbershop quartet champion and the Colts, Louisville Chorus, and other chapter quartets.

Christian Academy of Louisville presents "The Joy of Christmas" on Sunday, December 8. The show will feature The Master's Men of Southeast Christian Church.  It begins at 5 p.m.

Presentation Academy's Annual Christmas Concert featuring the Pres Choir takes place Thursday, December 12. This long-standing tradition shows off the skills of the talented students of the downtown school. Tickets are available for this show online or by calling Presentation at 502-583-5935

Finally on Monday, December 23 come enjoy the Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker." There will be two performances, a matinee at 3 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. Audiences will be treated to a new production featuring larger than life puppets, nesting dolls, and intricute, hand-crafted costumes.
