SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. - A 9-year-old Shepherdsville lab always had a sense of adventure. Dew's parents Mandey and Stewart Lee said, ever since he was little, he just didn't want to stay home. When mom and dad go to work, Dew hits the streets.

"He is just a natural, fun-loving dog. He just wants to be around people," Stewart Lee said.

Hitting the town, he often stops to say hi to neighbors, hang out at the Zoneton Fire Protection District or play with kids at nearby schools. Those people are used to seeing Dew around, and welcome him with open arms.

"He knows the routine. The firehouse has hotdogs on Monday. Ms. Johnson has steaks on Tuesday," Stewart Lee said. "We are fortunate to have neighbors and a community like that."

He likes to adventure, but always comes backs home. Since he likes to be on the go, they made a dog tag for him that reads, "My name is Dew. I am not lost. I like to roam. Tell me to go home."

A man saw Dew at a gas station and tweeted out some pictures from the encounter. That tweet started going viral.

"Stewart came home and said 'I think our dog is on the Internet.' I was like no what?" Mandey Lee said.

After that viral post, the story was picked up by news outlets across the country. Soon, Stewart and Mandey were being contacted by folks across the world. That's when their Stewart's sister decided to create the Facebook page Dew's Adventures, so people could keep up with his latest whereabouts.

He now has nearly 54,000 followers from around the globe. Now, they are even under a contract for Dew to get his own reality TV show.

"Sure enough he made his rounds and roamed outside of the community. He took over the social media scene I believe," Stewart Lee said.

They got Dew a GPS collar, so they could better track his adventures during the day.

"My mom was saying 'I don't think this is right because it shows him going 40 mph down Preston.' Come to find out, he was on the school bus or fire truck," Stewart Lee said.

Dew is just not like other dogs.

"I swear he's human," Mandey Lee said.

They had intended for him to be a farm dog, but it seems he likes people more than animals.

"His hunting consists of cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets," Stewart Lee said.

No matter what unique quality people are drawn to, it's clear by messages from followers that he inspires others.

"I hope they walk away with a smile and carry that with them," Mandey Lee said.

It turns out, Dew's Adventures have led the Lees on some journeys of their own. They said they never intended to create a page for their dog. They never imagined people would care that much what Dew is up to. Never in their wildest dreams did they think he would be a TV star. It all just happened naturally from that viral post. Now, the Lees have connected with people from all over the world who just like the positivity Dew brings to many.
