LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hall of Fame basketball coach Denny Crum is recovering at a local hospital following a stroke this week.  It is his second stroke in two years. Jonathan Israel, Director of Development with the Denny Crum Scholarship Foundation, wrote on his twitter page about the stoke and attributed the statement to the foundation.  

 

 

 

Crum, 82, had a stroke while on an Alaskan fishing trip in August, 2017.  
 
Crum coached the Louisville Cardinal men's basketball team from 1971 through 2001 and brought UofL its first two national championships in 1980 and 1986.  He remains a fixture at Louisville functions and basketall games.  He and his wife, Susan live in Louisville and often spend their time enjoying the outdoors on hunting and fishing trips. 
 
A number of Crum's closest friends are sending their best wishes to the coach.
