As one Kentucky woman battles cancer, she received some special treatment Saturday morning.

Christina Lanham has stage 4 colon cancer, but she’s worked to keep her family’s spirits up.

“I hope to inspire everyone not to give up,” said Tina Lanham. “It’s a rough ride, but you can do it. Pray about it and God will get you through.”

Lanham is a patient from the Norton Cancer Institute. She mentioned to a few employees at Norton Healthcare about how she had always wanted to fly in a hot air balloon.

Erica Munoz and Beth Payne then reached out to the Norton Healthcare Foundation in order to grant Lanham’s wish for a hot air balloon ride.

“We want to make dreams come true and make the impossible possible for our patients,” said Payne.

Crawford Hot Air Balloons, Inc. took Tina and her husband, Josh, two thousand feet above Louisville for a hot balloon ride. Tina’s fight with cancer tugged at David Beazly’s heartstrings.

“This is very personal to me,” said Beazly. “My wife is a breast cancer survivor.”

Tina and Josh’s hot air balloon ride came before the couple’s 4th wedding anniversary. She is grateful to Norton Healthcare, the Norton Healthcare Foundation, and Crawford Hot Air Balloons, Inc.

She hopes this story motivates other people who deal with a lot to stay positive and to dream big.

“Never give up on your dreams because something will happen and make them come true,” she said.

Lanham begins double chemotherapy treatments later this month.
