LEXINGTON, Ky --- A ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, officially opened the recovery community center for the non-profit organization Voices of Hope.
- Voices of Hope is a Recovery Community Organization created by people in personal and/or family recovery in response to unmet needs in our community
- The goal of the center is to enhance the quantity and quality of support available to people seeking and experiencing long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction
- Voices of Hope was organized in 2013 to begin hosting their annual Overdose Awareness Day and provide overdose response training and naloxone distribution
Organozers say the center is 'peer-operated' and offers many services to help people who are in recovery, stay in recovery.
Participants in the center's programs do not live on-site, but they will have access to in-person recovery coaches and weekly meetings.
Voices of Hope will also host social activities like yoga, book clubs and educational classes for those receiving services.
Voices of Hope's new recovery center is in Suite 101 of 450 Old Vine Street, Lexington KY.
