Three people have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Northern Kentucky, according to statement from the Northern Kentucky Health Department. All three cases have been reported since July. The agency serves people in Boone, Campbell, Grant and Kenton Counties. Since the virus is spread by mosquitoes, they're asking people who live in the area to be vigilant about using bug spray and wear long-sleeved shirts and pants. They also recommend getting rid of standing water whenever possible to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
