Kentucky's 1st District State Senator Jason Howell was inspired to run for office because he loves western Kentucky. He wanted to move back home to help his community thrive and navigate the transition from an agricultural center to a business hub.
The biggest thing Howell has learned during his time in office is that no one person has all the answers - working together is the best way to effect change. So far, his biggest accomplishment is sponsoring disaster relief legislation to help western Kentucky recover from devastating tornadoes.
If he weren't in public service, Howell would still be on the board of his local school system. If he could have lunch with any historical figure, he would chose Winston Churchill.
