Hailing from Kentucky's 12th District, State Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe was inspired to run for office because she finds it fun and rewarding to help people. Her favorite part of being a legislator is listening to people's different perspectives about important issues and helping make decisions that impact her community.

Something Bledsoe's district does better than anywhere else is horse racing - the area is home to many Triple Crown and Kentucky Derby winners. One thing she wishes people knew about her job is what a day in the life looks like, with a busy schedule of meetings and projects focused on serving the community.

Bledsoe's first job was wrapping presents at Fayette Mall. Her hobbies include running, hiking, golfing, and playing tennis.
