In his Know Your Electeds interview, State Representative James Tipton (KY-53), shares that he first ran for office to leave a better future for his three children. To him, the best part of his job is listening to and helping people. 

Tipton's top legislative priorities in the upcoming year include legislation that would improve childhood literacy rates in the state. 

Tipton's first job was feeding cows on his family's farm. Some advice he would give to his younger self is to "be patient and persistent".
