Kentucky State Senate President Robert Stivers believes that learning and listening are key to being a good legislator. He's seen firsthand that a one-size-fits-all solution is not always the answer, and different parts of the state might require different approaches.
There is no typical day for Stivers. In his Know Your Electeds interview, he shares that his duties as a legislator and presiding official mean his day evolves quickly and are always different. Whether it's K-12 or university funding, he finds education policy work the most rewarding.
In three words, Stivers describes his district as "big, rural and beautiful." He is currently reading "On The House" by John Boehner.
