KENTUCKY — On this week’s “In Focus Kentucky” program, we’re sitting down one-on-one with Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman, R-Ky.

During this segment, Coleman reflects on accomplishments from his first ten months as Kentucky’s 52nd Attorney General, spending part of the summer criss-crossing the Bluegrass State issuing several opinions, creating new partnerships and filing various lawsuits on behalf of the Commonwealth.

“It’s been extraordinary. I love this commonwealth. I love Kentuckians. We have a phenomenal state, and our team has gone to where the threats are. When I ran, I focused on three things. We call it three legs of the stool. One was balance that we’re seeing, not only in Louisville, significant uptick, but we’re seeing it in rural Kentucky, our overdose death rate, which thankfully, we reduced those slightly last year, but we still had almost 2,000 Kentuckians die to drug related death. And then this regulatory tsunami coming out of Washington, D.C.. I’ll admit I didn’t fully anticipate just the volume of regulations, particularly on the green agenda, that we would need to push back on. And so those three legs of the stool have really driven this my first 10 months in office. At the same time, we’ve had horrific incidents like the loss of a district court judge down in southeast Kentucky, where we’re playing a role as the special prosecutor, along with Jackie Steele the Commonwealth’s Attorneys. so it’s certainly not been dull,” explains Coleman.
