KENTUCKY — Mario Anderson sits down with outgoing two-term Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts Mike Harmon, R-Ky.

The Republican lawmaker was first elected in Nov. 2015 as the 47th auditor for the state. He was re-elected to a second term as auditor in Nov. 2019 and before that, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives for 13 years representing the 54th District, which includes Boyle and Casey County, and previously Washington County.

“You know, I was looking back over the eight years and my term, which came in kind of an interesting way I came in, I had only $45,000 going against Adam Edelen who had $800,000. So I jokingly say during that 2015 race, even my mom didn’t think I was gonna win. But you know, looking at the pieces of legislation that we’ve helped pass, I think maybe 15+ good pieces of legislation helped government be efficient, effective and ethical. I look back at all the special, different special exams that we had. Really I’ve had a wonderful life, or a wonderful time, as you might say,” said Harmon.

Mike Harmon was also a Republican primary candidate for governor of Kentucky in 2023 and during this segement he discusses his campaign and comments on the results of the Kentucky General Election race.
