FANCY FARM, Ky. — Besides the political appearances, the Fancy Farm political picnic offers traditional fair activities such as bingo games and raffle prizes, benefitting St. Jerome Catholic Church. The food includes lots of barbecue and mutton, a Knights of Columbus fish fry on the Friday night before Saturday’s festivities, along with homemade baked goods from locals in the Graves County area.

The event was recognized in the 1985 Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Largest Picnic” for the consumption of 15,000 pounds of mutton, pork and chicken at the 1982 picnic.

During this “In Focus Kentucky” segment, Republican Party of Kentucky spokesman Sean Southard and Kentucky Democratic Party chair Colmon Eldridge discuss how the campaigns roll on for Ky.’s two major political parties following the conclusion of Fancy Farm 143.
