KENTUCKY — Candidates competing in the Democratic and Republican Party primaries for Kentucky’s Commissioner of Agriculture appeared on In Focus Kentucky to discuss a wide range of topics and issues ranging from hemp production, legalization of marijuana and how their administration would work to inspire the next generation of farmers.

During this segment, Mario Anderson spoke with Republican Jonathan Shell and Richard Heath. Shell is a 5th-generation farmer from Lancaster in Garrard County. Shell previously served as a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and was Kentucky’s first-ever Republican House Majority Floor Leader. 

Richard Heath is from Mayfield in Graves County and graduated with a Masters in Agriculture from Murray State, and managed the Graves County Coop for almost 20 years. He has served as a Republican member in the Kentucky State Representative since 2013 and currently is the chair of the House Agriculture committee.
