KENTUCKY — Earlier this summer, the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees approved a $5.6 billion budget for the University, for the year 2022-2023, which continues a five-year trend of holding down costs for students, while significantly increasing investments in financial aid and initiatives that will advance the state.
"We're about to welcome our record class at the University of Kentucky, just over 6,000 students. That's up over 2,000 from a decade ago. And we we know that if we provide a stellar education to more and more Kentuckians, we're going to advance Kentucky," explains Dr. Capilouto. "Now to do that, we had to get creative. Not only do we admit more students, but we graduate more and higher rates ever than ever in our history."
As thousands of students and employees return to colleges across the Commonwealth, the University of Kentucky wants to reminds it's campus community about the importance of COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
"I want parents to know especially that we we care at the University of Kentucky. And when this pandemic hit us over two years ago, we responded. We built our own public health infrastructure so that in the days where we were testing to identify cases, we could quickly isolate or quarantine, provide educational support and counseling, keep people safe," said Dr. Capilouto.
