KENTUCKY — Ashli Watts is the President and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, which supports a very dynamic business climate in the Commonwealth and works to advance Kentucky.

Watts took the reins of the state’s largest business association, in November 2019.

During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Watts shares updates about the Inaugural Women's Summit on July 19 hosted by the Chamber.

Women in politics and women in business will be highlighted in panel discussions with many of the state’s top leaders.

University of Louisville President Neeli Bendapudi will open the day with a keynote conversation and the Honorable Elaine Chao, former U.S. Secretary of Labor and U.S. Secretary of Transportation, will serve as the closing keynote and will be interviewed by Watts.

"We're really excited about having Secretary Chao at the summit this year. I think everyone obviously knows her husband Leader Mitch McConnell, but she in herself is a force to be reckoned with. We're going to talk a little bit about her journey to where she got to, from a family of immigrants to being one of the key members in two presidential cabinets. I mean she has a terrific story that I think many people may not really know, and so we're gonna listen to her and kind of have her share her advice for younger women, and really just talk about the importance of Kentucky, the importance of being a leader in our state, and anything that she wants to share with our group," says Watts
