VERSAILLES, Ky, --- Once upon a time in a castle not so far, far away was a magical place known to many, but a mystery to those that traveling highway 60 and passingby these gates just of Versailles .

"If you've seen pictures, you know it's a pretty cool place. It's a castle in Kentucky. I think for Kentuckians specifically, we're trying to highlight some of the great things about Kentucky," says Matt Dawson.

Set in a medieval-style on scenic grounds in Woodford County, The Kentucky Castle is not only a tourist attraction, but a Kentucky destination.

"We have 13 rooms. It's a small, boutique hotel. So we can take really great care of guests. We also have a restaurant that's open seven a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We have a bar area, a bourbon hall where we do a lot of our bourbon education. We have a pool. We have a greenhouse. We have the working farm," adds Dawson

But during the holiday season, this enchanted palace is transformed into a Christmas wonderland.

"I think castles are pretty magical places in general already, but we really go all out at Christmastime. We do that because of the kids. I have four kids, and I know how magical of a time Christmas is for kids. If you have a kid and you've ever driven by the castle, you know their response to the castle. So we went all out. We've decorated it," explains Dawson.

"We've brought actual trees into the castle. It's completely decorated. We have a tree up at the top of the stairs, we have a massive tree out front we've decorated as well. We have a letters to Santa box that you can't see, just right off the screen here. We've got a lot of really cool things for kids and families to come enjoy. We really think we've captured the magic of the season here," says Dawson.

The magic that Matt hopes everyone will want to embrace.

"This is your castle. It's The Kentucky Castle. We're taking care of it, and we've tried our hardest to make this a really magical, amazing place for Christmastime. So come by and see it. We can't wait to see you here," says Dawson.
