KENTUCKY — This week marks the start of changes to disciplinary measures for not following COVID-19 protocols at the University of Kentucky, lane closures in Lexington and a music festival returns after a year off. That's a look at some of the things happening this week in Kentucky.

Monday marks the start of new disciplinary measures for students, staff and faculty at the University of Kentucky who do not follow COVID-19 safety measures. Unvaccinated students and staff are required to get tested for COVID-19 weekly.
The first time an employee fails to do so, a letter will be sent to their supervisor. The second time, a file will be placed in their permanent personnel record. After the third week of non-compliance, they will no longer be eligible for the 2% merit raise. After four weeks of non-compliance, an employee could be put on unpaid administrative leave.
The first time an unvaccinated student fails to complete a required weekly COVID-19 test, a hold will be placed on their account. The second time, a student will be denied access to athletic events and other social activities. In the third week of non-compliance, a student will have a disciplinary conduct meeting. After four weeks of failing to get a required COVID-19 test, a student could be suspended.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is warning drivers about a scheduled project on I-75 Tuesday. There will be temporary lane closures Tuesday on I-75 N at the Paris Pike overpass bridge.
KYTC said the closure is necessary for bridge deck repair work. The two left lanes will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.
The Louder Than Life music festival returns after a year off. It runs Thursday through Sunday in Louisville.
Danny Wimmer Presents usually hosts three music festivals in Louisville known as the 'Tri-festa.' However, there will be no Bourbon and Beyond or Hometown Rising this year.
Guests will have to show either proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test to attend the festival.
Scheduled headliner Nine Inch Nails dropped out in mid-August due to rising COVID-19 cases. Then last week, Snoop Dogg canceled his appearance as well.
