LEXINGTON, Ky. — Free coronavirus testing continues to expand in Lexington as two new testing sites are set to open in collaboration with the University of Kentucky. Testing will also be available this week and next at The Learning Center.

Testing at The Learning Center, located at 475 Price Road, is part of the Mayor's Mobile Neighborhood Testing Program. In the 22 days the mobile testing sites have been active, over 8,000 tests have been administered.

“The Mayor’s Mobile Neighborhood Testing Program has been very successful in reaching people in neighborhoods where we are seeing a disproportionate numbers of cases,” Mayor Linda Gorton said.

Testing at The Learning Center will be available at the following dates and times:

  • Aug. 20: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Aug. 21: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Aug. 22: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No appointments are necessary.

Testing will soon be available in partnership with the University of Kentucky, UK HealthCare and Wild Health. The two new testing locations will be at 1505 College Way and 1350 Bull Lea Road and will provide free drive-thru testing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, beginning Monday, Aug. 24. Appointments are required and can be made online.

Testing is also available at a number of other locations:

Bluegrass Community and Technical College

  • Located at 500 Newton Pike
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday this week and the next
  • Available for anyone 18 years or older
  • Apointments required, can be made online

Bluewater Diagnostic Laboratory

  • Located at Mayor's Mobile Neighborhood Testing Program locations
  • Tests available to anyone at no cost
  • Health insurance information may be requested but not required

Consolidated Baptist Church

  • Located at 1625 Russell Cave Road
  • Available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday
  • Testing available for anyone
  • No appointment necessary

Southland Christian Church

  • Located at 2349 Richmond Road
  • Available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • No appointment necessary

Walgreens

  • Located at 2296 Executive Drive
  • Tests will continue while test kits are available seven days a week
  • Registration required online

In addition, most healthcare providers and Urgent Caare Centers offer testing options for patients.

Finally, most healthcare providers are offering testing options for their patients. Urgent Care Centers are also offering COVID-19 testing.
