LEXINGTON, Ky. — There are many questions when it comes to how this upcoming school year will look. This is not only causing stress to students and their parents but also putting more pressure on the teachers.

MaryKay Howard, a teacher at Lafayette High School in Lexington, is using her yoga skills to help de-stress her fellow colleagues.

“The teachers that I have kind of talked with are very stressed out, you know with the family lives with not knowing if we're going to be in school. When we're going to be in school. There's just a lot, certainly a lot of stress.” Howard said.

Howard will be hosting a free yoga and meditation webinar on August 6 from 4 p.m.- 5 p.m. There is no equipment needed except for a pillow and a journal.

“That's one thing I really want, is to start with yourself. You have to put your own oxygen mask on first.” Howard said.

Howard says her goal is to help equip her fellow educators with practices and meditation skills to get them through these next upcoming months.
