Evictions will resume Saturday, Aug. 1; however, landlords must give 30 days' notice to vacate before filing an eviction action. Previously, Gov. Andy Beshear (D) banned evictions in March in response to the pandemic.

In an administrative order, the court said attorneys, jurors, parties, witnesses, members of the public and media must wear facial coverings during jury trials. Judges are responsible for making sure the courtroom is in compliance with health guidelines such as facial coverings and proper social distancing.

Courts in Kentucky shut down earlier this spring due to the pandemic but partially reopened for hearings last month. Trial judges will determine whether or not to proceed with individual trials based on local health conditions and the Supreme Court's health and safety requirements.
