LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It’s been nearly three months since some Kentucky businesses closed down because of the coronavirus pandemic. This week, some of those places will be able to welcome back customers. This comes as the state slowly continues its reopening process.

What You Need To Know

  • More businesses to open Monday morning

  • Businesses required to follow Healthy at Work guidelines

  • Lexington Public Libary will paritally open

Aquariums, distilleries, libraries, limited outdoor attractions, museums, horse shows and some childcare in-home programs can reopen Monday morning.

Those places will have to follow the state’s Healthy at Work guidelines. The businesses have to minimize the use of any waiting areas, limit indoor operations to 33 percent capacity, make sure employees wear a mask when near others and more.

While these places are allowed to reopen Monday, not all are. For example, looking at museums in the Louisville area, Frazier History Museum and the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory will be among some of the first to reopen, both waiting until Thursday to do so.

Louisville Free Public Libraries have not announced any plans to reopen anytime soon. Lexington Public Library will open the East Side Branch for curbside pickup only Monday, but none of the locations will be available for guests to go inside.

Also this week, the Kentucky Horse Park and Kentucky State Park campgrounds can reopen Thursday.
