What You Need To Know

  • Norton Healthcare providing free COVID-19 tests this weekend

  • Participants must register online, bring ID to testing facility

Drive-thru and walk-up testing will only be offered Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 from noon to 4 p.m. at 3101 Poplar Level Road.

Those seeking a test will not require a referral from their provider; however, participants must register and bring their ID to the testing facility.

“We want to offer access to a weekend of free testing for those who have been participating in the recent protests and gatherings, as well as any others who want to be tested,” said Russell Cox, president and CEO of Norton Healthcare. “Unfortunately we’re not immune to the possibility of additional COVID-19 outbreaks. The virus isn’t seasonal, so we still have to take precautions to slow the spread as we come out of self-isolation.”

Typical symptoms to watch out for include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell.

Test results should be available in three to four days, but may take longer.
