BOONE COUNTY, Ky. — A Northern Kentucky church is disregarding orders to suspend in-person services.

On Monday, multiple city and county officials confirmed the Northern Kentucky Health Department is enforcing mandates.

A spokesperson for the health department declined to go on camera to maintain social distancing. She said the department is having social distancing conversations and enforcing the mandate.

Many cars could be seen parked at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Boone County during Sunday’s service. The church sits just outside of the City of Florence.

A church pastor declined to speak with us on camera but said their “faith in the Lord is greater than the coronavirus.”

At Friday's press conference, Governor Andy Beshear called out the church after receiving numerous calls on the COVID-19 hotline.

Earlier this month, Beshear announced canceling worship services across the state to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Anyone is encouraged to file a report at the NKY Environmental Health at 859-341-4151 or the state’s COVID-19 hotline at 800-722-5725.
