James Holzhauer, the "Jeopardy!" champion who won 32 straight games, earning over $2 million has donated part of his winnings to a Chicago-area pancreatic cancer walk in Alex Trebek's name.
The popular "Jeopardy!" host publicly announced the diagnosis of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March. He's since said he's almost in remission.
An organizer for the 2019 Naperville pancreatic cancer research walk said Holzhauer sent her a donation of $1,109.14. At first glance this number looks odd, but it was later discoved the number represents Holzhauer's daughter's birthday.
In his final episode Trebek thanked Holzhauer's daughter for a card she wrote him.
Along with the donation Holzhauer wrote a note saying, "For Alex Trebek and all the other survivors."
