Michon is the anchor/producer for Pure Politics.
Michon joined Spectrum News Kentucky in January 2018 as a political producer. While producing, she started a new segment, Common Ground, which goes beyond polarization in politics and points out where politicians agree on important issues. She also made regular appearances on the The Grind, a weekly show to discuss what happened that week in Kentucky politics. She moved into anchoring in August 2018. She is excited for the opportunity to provide in depth coverage on how state politics affects Kentuckians.
Before moving to Kentucky, Michon worked in Springfield, Illinois serving as the statehouse bureau chief for the NBC affiliate. During her time there, she covered the state's two-year budget impasse and the largest school funding overhaul in Illinois history.
Michon grew up in the suburbs of Chicago before moving to Southern Illinois to attend college. She received a bachelor's degree in Electronic News Journalism from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in Public Affairs Reporting from University of Illinois Springfield.
In her spare time, Michon enjoys trying all the great restaurants Kentucky has to offer, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks and spoiling her two cats, Franklin and Mildred.
