A proud Mainer, David Guildford brings with him experiences from growing up in a rural mill town, as well as lifelong passions for politics and sports in the hearts of cities.

David began his journalism career as an intern for News Center Maine. After college, he was hired at WVII/WFVX in Bangor, Maine, where he was immediately thrust into a vital role: reporting on weekdays while solo-anchoring and producing the station's top-rated weekend newscast. He took the leap to Spectrum News Kentucky in August 2018 and has made it his mission to find the heart and soul of the Bluegrass State.

David attended the University of Maine's journalism program, and he's an unapologetic Black Bear and New England sports fan. He is, however, incredibly excited to experience "big time" college sports, whether for work or in the stands. But when he's not on assignment or a sideline, David enjoys playing softball and any other rec sports he can find. He also appreciates the bourbon trail and discovering the state's many historic landmarks.

Though he has to wear hairspray to work these days, David never forgets his blue-collar upbringing. His favorite stories are those off the beaten path where some of Kentucky's, and America's, best-kept secrets are found.
