FORT KNOX, Ky. — Fort Knox will welcome the holiday season on Thursday with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Post Gazebo located across from Brooks Parade Field.


What You Need To Know

  • The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is free

  • Around 300 trees will be given to service members and their families

  • There will also be a visit from Santa Claus

The free event event starts at 5:30 p.m. with the sounds of holiday music and a visit from Santa Claus. There will also be complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

Immediately after the ceremony, the "Trees for Troops" program will give out about 300 free Christmas trees to service members and their families. Tree distribution will be at the Waybur Theater parking lot until 8:30 p.m.

Attendees can also view the 4’ x 8’ holiday cards which will surround the parade field, courtesy of Fort Knox units, organizations and schools as well as area businesses and municipalities.
