LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Christmas is a tough time of the year for parents, who can’t afford to buy gifts for their kids.

But the Christmas spirit is always on display at Samantha Head’s house. For this mom of five, the holiday is a time to give back.

She said, “Jesus embodies giving and loving others. I think loving others and serving others to another level, especially at Christmas.” 

The Elizabethtown mother started posting satirical videos about motherhood on Instagram and TikTok.

She has over half a million followers between the two social media platforms.

Head said, “Emotionally, you know, they do the majority of the housework and managing schedules, especially a stay at home mom. And I assume all moms do that. But that’s you know, that’s the way it is. And I think finding some humor in that is good.”

This holiday season, Head is using her social media success to help single moms.

“I know how stressful it can be around the holidays and having all that. And I’m stressed about it. So just if we can relieve a little bit of stress and help moms give their kids a little joy on Christmas,” she told Spectrum News 1.

Recently, Head posted a video to raise money to buy single moms Christmas gifts.

“It started as my husband and I just wanting to do this for a few single moms, just us as a way to give back since social media has blessed us so much this year. But it quickly turned into like my followers wanting to donate and then a ton of small businesses in Elizabethtown wanting to donate and the surrounding areas,” Head said.

She wants single moms to feel they are supported. 

“It’s so hard raising kids and I can’t imagine doing it alone. So you guys are doing a great job,” she said.

Head is still raising money for the giveaway on her Instagram and TikTok accounts. She has raised about $35,000, which is helping to give around 115 moms gifts to put under the tree.
