Hankison is being retried for his role in the raid that left Breonna Taylor dead in 2020.

The Department of Justice filed the original charges against Hankison in 2022 after he was acquitted on charges of wanton endangerment for firing shots into a neighboring apartment during the 2020 raid.

The retrial comes just weeks after federal prosecutors filed new charges against former LMPD officers, Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany. Both men are accused of falsifying the warrant used in the rain.
