PERINTON, N.Y. — The Town of Perinton and Waste Management are working on a new agreement for the High Acres Landfill.
The proposals focus on the landfill's environmental impact, its value for residents and managing the smell coming from it.
Perinton officials also want 50% less trash from New York City coming up via railroad.
"This is something the tech team has put into the host agreement and it's something we're not going to negotiate down from. We're going to play hardline on that part of the HCA," said Perinton Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna.
Residents have until May 3 to comment on the proposal on the Perinton town website.
