LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With the continued spread of COVID-19 across Kentucky in mind, the University of Louisville has updated its safety protocols and procedures ahead of the 2021 football season at Cardinal Stadium.

  • Indoor masking will be required for all fans, staff and vendors at Cardinal Stadium, regardless of vaccination status

  • Fans seated in private suites won't be required to mask up while in their individual suite

Fans attending any of the UofL home games, which kick off Saturday, Sept. 11 against Eastern Kentucky, will have to abide by the latest policies, which include indoor masking in most settings.

All fans, staff and vendors attending a home game will have to wear a mask in any indoor area at the stadium, regardless of vaccination status.

Indoor spaces at Cardinal Stadium include restrooms, elevators, PNC Club, Pepsi Club and the press box. Fans seated in private suites won't be required to mask up while in their individual suite.

Masks won't be required in outdoor walkways, general stadium seating or within outdoor club seating.

Based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, masks are recommended for unvaccinated Cards fans in all settings except while actively eating or drinking.
