RICHMOND, Ky. — Three student athletes and three athletics staff members from Eastern Kentucky University have tested positive for COVID-19.

EKU did not say which sport the students and staff belong to.

"The health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff are our primary concern," said a statement from EKU's athletics department. "We value our entire campus community's privacy and will limit information that could further identify any individual." 

The statement also said those who tested positive are isolating and the athletics department is adjusting schedules as necessary for voluntary workouts. The university is also working with the Madison County Health Department on tracing and notifying people who came in contact with those who tested positive. 

EKU is also having the areas the people were at professionally cleaned using protocols in-line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
