FRANKLIN, Ky. — Goldie Mae Freeman had just turned 90-years-old. She was born on March 25, 1930, in Simson County, Kentucky. 

The homemaker was the mother of seven sons. Goldie Mae also had 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her life was filled with love and family. 

Her family doesn't know how she contracted coronavirus telling a Bowling Green television station she only went to the grocery store and church. She was a member of Franklin Church of Christ. 

She had been hospitalized in Franklin, but when her condition got worse she was transferred to Bowling Green. There she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and passed away on March 30. Goldie Mae Freeman was 90 years old and the first person in southcentral Kentucky to die from the virus.
