EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Sports Broadcasting Hall of Famer Bob Costas shared what he will remember the most about Vin Scully.

“He was elegant, and eloquent, elegant and eloquent. Who he was on the air was an extension of who he was off the air. He was a gracious person. He had an innate class and dignity about him but not a stuffed shirt dignity,” Costas said.

“What he was on the air obviously was a result of the unparalleled talent that he brought into the booth. But it also was a product of the person he was and the America he grew up in,” added Costas.
