On Tuesday, NASA's JPL in Pasadena announced they would be laying off approximately 530 employees, or about 8% of their workforce. 

NASA claimed that Congress's failure to pass an appropriations bill for 2024 was the main contributing factor in laying off workers, as the agency no longer had the funding to maintain their employment levels.
