LOS ANGELES — Using a combination of propriety cooling materials and existing technology, the co-founders of ThermoShade, Dan Coplon and Emily Dinino, have designed a simple yet effective solution to tackle extreme heat, particularly in urban areas.
According to UCLA researchers, the Los Angeles region will be 3 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit warmer by 2050 and see an increase in the number of “extreme heat days.”
Heat researcher Edith de Guzman explains why rising temperatures are deadly and how cities can implement cooling solutions.
