EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Basketball legend Jerry West, known as "the logo," has died at age 86.

West played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 14 years and was considered one of the best front-office executives in all of sports.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver released a statement saying, “He distinguished himself not only as an NBA champion, but also as a consummate competitor who embraced the biggest moments.”
