LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Kings held a special Black History Month celebration Thursday night, prior to their game against Nashville. It included a panel for community members, law enforcement and members of the judicial system, and elected officials to become better educated about one another.
The team also had special warmup jerseys. Proceeds of sales from the jerseys will benefit 24 Degrees of Color, a Diversity Ice Skating program of ThruGUIDANCE in partnership with the Kings. The jerseys were designed by Akil Thomas, a Black center with Barbados heritage on the Ontario Reign, the minor league affiliate of the Kings.
